The fabric finishing process is the final stage transforming raw knits or wovens into premium, market-ready materials using automated thermal and mechanical controls for enhanced durability, precise stability, and a superior hand-feel.
Production begins with advanced slitting technology, precisely cutting open tubular knits along a single needle wale to prevent distortion. The fabric then passes through an automated chemical spray unit to apply uniform functional finishes. For natural fibers, specialized cotton drying systems use low-tension thermodynamic currents to extract moisture gently, protecting fiber elasticity from thermal shock.
Next, the material enters a stenter frame for high-temperature heat setting, permanently stabilizing the molecular structure of synthetic or blended fibers to eliminate future skewing. Finally, a mechanical compacting unit uses heated pressure rollers to compress yarn loops, locking in residual dimensional stability and delivering the plush, high-density tactile profile demanded by global apparel buyers.
